I'm not sure where this should go, as it seems to fit both Beta and Networking forums.
Anyway, I'm networking 2 machines using a crossover cable and network cards. There is no problem at all when both machines are running XP. Both machines can see each other's shared files etc and both have internet connectivity.
If I boot the main PC into Vista. I can setup file sharing so that both machines can see each others shared files and folders, but there is no way I can set up Internet Connection Sharing. The second PC says there is limited or no connection.
There must be a simple way of setting this up so that both machines can access the internet in the same way as XP.
I don't want to have to buy a router, but if this is the only way then I might have to.
I'm thinking of taking Vista off as it's not fair on the people who use the second machine when they can't access the net. lol
Anyone managed to get this working?
Thanks
Michael
