^^ This thing in a clear case with lights would be sic ! :)

OMFG, that is my dream mobo! At least the design. HOLY CRAP!!!

From the reviews I have read the Asus P6T outperforms this board.

This board is all that is needed. You don't need any of the extra stuff that is with the other boards ...

I am talking about benchmarks.

I prefer function over form, personally, and I don't care about lights or clear cases. I tinker with my computers too much and clear cases are usually a much bigger pain to deal with, plus less flexible than a real case. Cases are a pet peeve of mine. :)

That is a minimal for what I need. It doesn't have all the extras with it, so it makes it nice :) I see your point about function over form. I am a neat freak, so of course I will look at it differently than most.

AZ: I have to agree with Johnny. If you're nit-picking about MOTHERBOARD performance, especially if it's performance differences make the term "negligible" seem like an overstatement....... wow.

Yea I understand what AZ is talking about, you always want better performance, but yea the difference between those 2 is nothing. Plus, we should always be able to have both, performance and form/design. Shouldn't we :)

Not nit-picking just making a true statement. If I am going to pay over 200 dollars for something I want the best performing/overclocking I can get.
X58 is a good board but it is not the best and is the same price with less features.
Tell me this: Would you pay for a car without extras and less performance as the same car with extras and better performance?

Unfortunately, Asus mainboard was often ahead and sometimes quite significantly. In fact, we have come across only one mainboard so far that would take so long – 167 seconds – to calculate 8 million digits of the Pi. You may not be surprised to find out that it was EVGA X58 SLI Classified. And again we see the same result, and again on an EVGA mainboard.

overclocked to 3.8 GHz and memory frequency at 1810 MHz:
In fact, nothing has changed. The minimal fps rate in Crysis Warhead turned out unexpectedly high, while in other tests things are not so rosy again for EVGA X58 SLI LE mainboard. We saw very similar situation during our tests of EVGA X58 SLI Classified mainboard, but at that time our readers expressed an opinion that the lag had to do with the additional NVIDIA NF200 controller. It was allegedly creating additional delays. As we can see now, the controller has nothing to do with it. Even without it EVGA X58 SLI LE mainboard is still considerably behind the competitor.

I'm of the same mind. To each their own, I suppose. :)

If the options are that close in similarity it doesn't matter to me ..

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
