This is desperate for me I have an external drive 1394 80 gb maxtor and I had a .rar file of all my photo's that I have taken in the last 4 years of my life. I'm a profesional photographer and the photos are not replaceable. Is there a way of recovering the file I can see it I just can't change its properties or extract it... Any help or sugesstion would be greatly appreciated. I used the windows protection on the file...
I kept protected files and formated without unprotecting

I think Teeak-XP has an option to protect/unprotect files. At least you can't accidentally delete the file for now!
