hi peps...when i try to download the drivers for my printer..its telling me that the printer spooler is off...so i have to turn it on

so when i went to the services..it is set on automatic..but the services isnt on..so when i try to turn it on it gives me this error

could not start the print spooler service on local computer
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start

please help me turn it on (yes i did chkdsk/r spybot, defrag, and avs virus

-I tryed to make a bat file on start up..to run the spooler no luck
-i double check to make sure i dont have a blaster
-the rpc is running normaly
--i ram sigverfi everything is fine
-i tryed restore point as far one week..didnt fix it

i am thinking about reinstalling windows..but if i do that...will i lose all of my programs?

The Print Spooler service depends on the RPC service, and that's what the error seems to be about - dependancies. But you mentioned that RPC is running normally, so that shouldn't be the problem.
I'm not sure what could fix the problem, but I just thought I'd let you know that if you do reinstall Windows (without formatting) you won't lose any of your existing software.

ahhhh interesting as i have a lexmark

anytime! the weird thing is i have a compaq printer..and it still worked for me

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(
