Just a quickie (I feel as if i'm bloating the forum)

i installed my redhat from the 5 cds.
how do i get the apache server to work and
how do i get my dynamic dns updater to work so i can use the dynamic name]
how do i get an ftp server to work, as i have apache and serv-u on my winxp side, all working nicely.
My ambition is to go linux and ditch micro$oft.
so
HELP
(please)

Apache should work from the start if you just include it in the installation.
DDNS must be set up later. I suggest you use Webmin for this, it's a good configuration interface for most things on the computer.
To be honest I've never found any good FTP servers for Linux (there MUST be some!) so I haven't really bothered.

For a good FTP server, nothing beats Pure-FTPD. But for a FTP client, there are some, just dont know any.

For apache, on the command line try typing, as root:

# apachectl start

or

# service httpd start

if you dont have em installed, look for a package manager. I dont know red hat to well.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
