HP Scanner [ cannot be recognized ]

Problems with a HP 2200C scanner = cannot be recognized by no of my three systems :
1. two desktop based on AMD 1700+ with Windows XP Pro
2. HP Laptop ( a little bit older )

This device , as I said cannot be recognized under these three but works only an older system ( friend ) based on windows 98 , but I really need that scanner home attached to mine .
Any suggestions will be aprecciated .

G'day Cosmin. For this scanner you will need driver v1.22 for xp. Available from HP. This driver must be loaded first before plugging the scanner usb in. XP will then pick it up as soon as you plug in the usb..

Yes , Scanners and printers that precede mid 2001, usually run better with the manufacturers drivers, whereas those that were produced after that are generally happy with XP default drivers.
