I have a HP DeskJet 842C printer. It has recently been printing a "U" in the top left corner of the paper after I reboot. It seems to have happened since I have connected through a Linksys NR041 4-port router. Before being connected to the router, my computer was not printing these "U"s. Could it be my router? Any other suggestions?

There's no such animal as a Linksys NR041 router. Double check your model number.

As to your problem, does it go away when you reconnect your printer to the computer? I'd check my driver to make sure I had the latest version.

Never heard of a "u" being printed before, though.

Found it. Your router is a Network Everywhere model. There is a website with firmware upgrades that you can download. Check to see if that helps.

There are also alot of FAQs and troubleshooting tips. I suspect you have a setting wrong. The site should help. Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that. Good luck.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
