hp cd-writer 9500i prob. with xp pro

I have problems with my cd-writer, in fact i have two cd-wr's.
one is the hp and the other is an lg 32x 10x 40x.
the lg works fine, use it with roxio premium, it was recognized from the first moment by windows xp, but the hp was not and it works like a cd-rom. I had them both installed in win 98SE with no problems.
I don't have a cd-rom, the one i had crashed so i bought the lg instead.


my pc is:
soyo motherboard vba7133
384 mb sdram
riva tnt2 model 64/model 64 pro 32mb
hdd maxtor 40 gb
audigy
hp cd-rw 9500i
lg cd-rw 32x10x40x

Installed the drivers for it ? Did you try another software like Nero Burning Rom ?

I have the same CDRW and I had to fix it with a registry change. Im at work now but I can post the file tomorrow or I can email it to you tonight.
