Howto change screen on Samsung SGH-D600

So I bought myself a new screen for my mobile phone, a Samsung SGH-D600. The old one is full of scratches.

Problem is: how to put this screen on the phone.

I know it is not pc related, but there are many specialists on this forum, so I thought to give it a try.

Does anyone have a manual or instruction material on how to do this?

Do you mean the plastic thing that covers the actual display? Most of them are glued in with double sided tape, and if you can neatly get underneath it to pry it up, you can remove the old one, apply some new glue to the new one, and stick it on there. Mine has proven to be really scratch resistant, and I will have a new phone before I consider doing that .

Cracked Screen lens? If you have broken or cracked the lens cover that protects your screen then consider repairing it with this part.

Fitting Tip: Fitting isn't too difficult ..... Carefully remove your old screen lens. Lenses are held in place by a flexible rubber-like adhesive. They are designed to be removed. Usually there is enough of the old adhesive to hold the new lens in place. However if this isn't the case then extra glue can be applied. Always use a rubber type glue never use super-glue or hard setting glue. Glue can be purchased from most High Street shops ie hardware shops or stationary shops etc

I had to replace the lens on my D600 due to heavy scratches. All you need to do is use a hair dryer on the low setting, after it's fairly warm carefully use a knife and it peels off. The new lens has the tape/glue on the back and is easy to install.

Well, used the hair dryer from my wife to heat up the screen. Used a small needle to pop up the screen. The glue stayed neatly on the phone. Applied the new screen and now it is as good as new!
