How to stop NAV from scanning?

I am in the process of creating a web-based mail-checking system with PHP. This script is stored on my (Windows XP + Apache2 + PHP4) localhost computer. Now, when I run the script and it reads mail, NAV kicks in and scans the message. Normally I wouldn't mind, but this is webbased, I can't get any viruses through this, right? How can I prevent NAV (2003) from kicking in when I am receiving mail with my script. If you want to view the script, please ask.

you most certainly CAN get a virus through a web based email system.

Oh, even with my not-so-advanced system? All it does is read text, so a virus (binary) would output rubbish.

I don't know how it responds to a attached (text)file, I might as well test it.

I have clamav scan my FreeBSD box every month and send me the ouput.

Of course unchecking "scan incoming emails" in NAV Options would stop scanning all incoming email scans!

That was my idea too. I know that jetMailMonitor is able to read mail without NAV interferring. I was wondering if it can be done with PHP too.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
