How to setup FTP server on a LAN...

Well I know that. The FTP works, I just can't use passive FTP. And my friends who have routers can't connect.

They may need to open ports 1024 and greater on their router in order for the ftp server to be able to make its connection back to the client.

FLASHFXP

You will experience alot of problems connecting to sites behind routers. I recommend using Flashfxp as a ftp browser, it has more configurable settings to get around the pasv/non-pasv issues.

lol you dont have the xp firewall enabled do you? and assigning ip's to your computers isnt a bad idea you should do that and test the ftp with the lan

Guys, it is working just for for me, donno about other guys here. But it is for me...

And I dont have firewall in xp enabled. Dont need that. And assigning the automatic IP's in LAN , also works for me. So I am not planning to mess with that now.
