How to reboot in safe mode?

The help file says press f8 when it says "Please select the operation system".

I have winxp and it just boots winxp after the winxp load screen.

How do i reboot to safe mode?

I keep pressing F8 from the time I boot up. If I wait I miss it.

When you are starting your computer, it should beep once. As soon as you hear that beep, poud away on the F8 key.
