How to get rid of "Connecting to ads.x10.com" password screen??

How do you get rid of this? It shows on some of the webpages that I browse..

Mostly yahoo sites.. nothing like porn or anything, but it seems to be when it pops up, some pictures wont download.. Not sure why

I'm not running any kind of non pop up software, but I do have the software.. unless it's on with me turning it on...
It's off though from what it says..

if you have it installed, it could be screwing something up with internet explorer !

Not an expert but try that, then if it dosent work, umm i'll think of something..

Ok.. I got rid of it, but the pop up is still there after reboot.. damn thing is driving me nuts...lol

ok, its just plan IE 6 right, no add ons or anything, if there is thats probably it, if not sorry but you have to get somebody thats good in this topic !

Are you viewing these pages from behind a firewall or proxy? Business networks and university networks often have this problem.

I have neither.. It's a home system with no firewalls at this time.. It is on DSL as well..

these pop-ups might be internal and your computer might be an ad-server

goto

www.lavasoftusa.com

download ad-aware and check for ad spies

delete everything that pops up

bad stuff


let us know what happens

Ok.. I downloaded it, and ran it, and it said that "Gator" was on my windows system, and to get rid of it, and I did.. I hope this was it.. Thanks Egghead Nice Avatar BTW
