I've got a few extra components, and I might finish off a system and sell it. What do you guys think I could get for this?

Mid-tower case just like mine w/ 300 watt power supply: http://eck.cjb.net/case.gif
Soyo P4X400 Ultra Platinum Motherboard, onboard sound, LAN, DDR 400 support USB 2.0, etc.
Pentium 4 2.4GHz 533FSB (the one I'm using now)
GeForce 2 GTS Pro video card
20GB Western Digital harddrive 7200 RPM
8x4x32 Sony CD-RW
1 GB of Samsung DDR 3200 (two sticks of 512MB)
Floppy Drive

I would take a guess of $300 or so?

Just did a search on pricewatch, here are all the cheapest prices for my stuff:

Case: $40
Mobo: $105
CPU: $150
Video card: $50
Harddrive: $36
CD-RW: $20
RAM: $75 per stick -- $150
Floppy: $10

That adds up to $561. Of course, all of the components except the case and floppy have been used. So maybe $400-ish?

If I can come up with $300 to $400, I'll think about buying it. How can I contact you outside of this forum?

E-mail, AIM, MSN Messenger. I do have to get myself a new CPU first, which shouldn't be a big deal... I'll PM you.

I think 400 is good for that, it is still a respectable machine.

Synthesize I just realized youre in Arlington, not far from me, hell I grew up in that sh!thole of a town....(sorry no offense)

Hey watch it!

I live in Fort Worth and every Sunday we kneel down and give thanks to God for making Arlington as a buffer to keep Dallas further away from us. :p

I'd price it out as follows:
Case: $30 (300W is light these days)
Mobo: $100
CPU: $150 (Still a prime cpu)
Video card: $70 (That card is a classic, overclocks nice)
Harddrive: $20 ($1 a gig is pushing it)
CD-RW : $10 (new 52x lite-on burners are $20)
RAM: $60 per stick -- $120 (pirce goes up and down)
Floppy: $0 (comic relief)
Total $500

Problem is u have to deal with the "DUD" guy at Dell who's selling new with warantee and OS for $500-600.

$400, maybe less unless it includes monitor, keyoard, mouse, speakers etc. like the Dell will.

You'd get more parting it our than selling as a system.

That's a steal considering I got $500.00 for an IBM Netvista containing a 1.5 P4 (256 L-2 cache), a Marlin motherboard (never heard of this model before), 128MB RAM (not DDR), generic onboard sound chip, a Nvidia TNT 16MB video card' and a 13" monitor (not a flat screen) just two months ago.;)

Oh, and Window XP Home factory install.:)

Hell, I even threw in some USB 1.1...

P. S. SP1 not included!:D

Snook, you made out like a bandit on that system, someone was either really hard up for a PC, or had no idea what prices were...

All the same, good job.

Yeah, it seems all of Fort Worth feels that way, actually I live in Southlake, but if listed that everyone would go, "Where in the hell is that ?"

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
