Just seen 1 and i want to know how far it will oc (looked around found nothing conclusive)...i was going to get a 2500 but the 2800 is only a little more.

like the 2500+'s, each chip will be different. some good, some not so good.

i'm sure at least 3200+ speed is is safe bet, though. 400fsb, 2.2ghz.

The 2800 barton is a very good choice. I got one just over a month ago so I'd like to know how overclockable it is 2.

Well i have just found a 2600 barton at 88 pounds so trying to get some figures for this too....too much choice !.

So 2500xp barton overclocks well (possilbe 3000+)

2600xp barton too new to find anything

2800xp barton again maybe limited overclocking.

cost in order and in pounds are

2500= 74

2600= 88

2800= 101

all barton cores and all locall to me....which one do you reccomend ?

Found a 2600 barton review HERE

Right. I've just overclocked it. It's sitting at 3000+. I tried past that but my mobo will only support 333 not 400 so my pc would'nt start properly and it auto reverted itself back to the 2800+. My temp is still pretty cool 2. Before it was 42c and now it's 44c. So it seems pretty safe if you can to overclock it further.

Thanks for doing that...will post back later with what i got....if anyone is intrested where i got the good prices for the chips from i will post them in the Trading area under bonytony :Bargins:

change the multiplier manually instead of picking the presets ("3000+", "3200+"). you should be able to move the multiplier up as high as you want while leaving the fsb at 333. but, of course, be careful.

With a six-phase power supply and water cooling, I've been able to get a 2800+ to run at 2.25 GHz rock solid. I'm not going any higher.

I have been upgrading my systems at some cost i now have a Soltek EQ3410M with a P4 2.4c 800fsb (when i have time its going to be overclocked) and a Shuttle SN45G with a Barton 2500 (will get near xp3000 i expect) which too will be overclocked.

So its been an exspensive month for me (Sold my Shuttle SS51G) now just got to upgrade from my ti4200 to an Ati ??......better start saving again.

Will have to update sig too...blah.

It was actually the mobo that would'nt support a higher prossessor and nothing to do with the fsb. Oh well.

i have my XP2500 @ 11X200 for 2205 MHz at default voltage. I can hit 2.4GHz but isn't 100% stable due to power supply issues. From everything I've read the XP2500 is averaging between 2.3-2.5 on air and as high as 2.8 with extreme cooling. was going to post link to the guy with his 2500 at 2.8Ghz but can't find it i'll try to find it later.

I bought the Athlon xp2500 barton and as soon as i dropped it into my Shuttle Sn45G barebone i upped it to 11x200fsb and it works fine ...been benchmarking and using burn in (idles @42c and hits 51c under load).

Very pleased with it also using 2x512 pc3200 crucial ram which also runs on the tightest memory settings i can give it so with my Gf4 Ti4200 64mb card (@7volts and 312x615) i now get a 2001se score of 14176....that will do for now.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
