I need to format my c: drive so I can reload windows xp. How do I go abot this? Thanks.

pop in the XP CD

reboot & follow the instructions

insert Windows 98/ME Bootdisk..restart computer...select "without CD-ROM..." When it says just "A:\" write: Format C: and answer yes (Y) on the question.

If you use the XP cd, go into the bios, set it to boot from the CD and then follow instructions. You can format in either FAT32 or NTFS.

If you are doing it from a boot disk, make sure you have the bios set to boot from the A: drive and then once in A: type... format c: /u There is a space between c: and /u and you can only format in FAT32.

This will do a check of you HDD and a complete and thorough format. Once that is done, you will need to go back into the bios and change it to boot from the CD.

yeah make sure you boot from your CD-ROM drive first or it will not boot from your xp disk :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
