When i insert a cd into the drive , winXP is just loading a list of files on the cd, how can i enable autoplay so that it plays music or runs setup files straight away. I have taken a snapshot of where i thought it should be, but it seems to be blank.

Open My Computer.
Under Devices with Removable Storage right-click on the CD-ROM drive and then click Properties.
On the AutoPlay tab, click the multimedia content type you want to change.
Under Actions, click the action you want Windows to perform when it detects the media type you selected.

No Autorun Tab

I have included a snapshot of my cd rom properties, there is no autorun tab available.

Are you logged on with administrative rights? It should be there, honest.

Thanks for reply's Lonman, I have finally worked how to get my
Autoplay back on my CDRom. I thougt I'd let you know in case
anybody else has this problem.

I was tweaking around in the XP services and must of set the
SHELL HARDWARE DETECTION to manual, so I put it back to
automatic and everything works ok now. :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
