how do i configure internet options to take a proxy out & put it back in again?

I'm sorry I don't quite know what you mean.

as far as i know Aol uses Ie's proxy settings in

Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings

why do you want 2 change the proxy?

I thought the proxy was handled automatically by the dialer software.

i think it is, i cant find any setting in the options

i seem to remember it being proxy.aol.com

AOL's "internal" browser does not support proxy configuration.

instead conect using Aol, then minimize it + use ie or some alternative where the proxy can be set.

the proxy is changed in windows internet options.

the proxy is taking too much of my memory.

thanks

anyone know how to change the settings for getting rid of a proxy in windows internet explorer?

i don't have a high speed hook up. i don't have the proxy box checked, but it is still going through a proxy. it has 2 boxes to check,

1. automatically detect settings.

2. automatically configure settings.

which do i put a check, or both?
i tried neither and so many combinations i forget which all i tried.

thanks for your help.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
