How do I change my internal ip address?

I cant host games cause noone can ip in under my current ip address. Its like 145.356.0.0. Could someone help me change it to something normal. Thks

Well you can't just change your IP address, is that the IP address that your ISP assigns you? cause if it started with 145 that would be a valid address..unless you mean for some reason your getting a 169 or 10.x.x address?

I was giving that address as an example. The point was though that my private internal ip address has those two 0's at the end. My lan ip is fine. But when I host a game its using my internal ip. Which noone can ip too.

WEll, I have half of the answer, your IP address of the machine can not end in two zeros because that is a network address (EX. If you are using NAT and the machine IP is 192.10.1.1 then the address of the network would be 192.10.0.0) and not one that is addressable to a machine. Hopefully that's right and not to confusing, think I confused myself even.

Even when I was on a dial-up connection the internal ip had those two 0's on it.

No, 192.10.1.0 acctually. Then it's the same subnet.

Internal IP btw. If you say the internal IP and the LAN IP are different IP:s then there is no such thing as an internal IP (unless you mean 127.0.0.1 which is internal loopback). Where have you seen this setting?

Well I figured it out. I had two Lan connections open and my ip was showing on the one that I wasnt using.
