When I booting the XP every time, a windows is popup (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft\ [Merge Modules]);(not the GUI by MSconfig)
(please see the attach doc);

How can I disable the popup windows every times rebooting?

If you check that box and then click the button, I bet it won't come back. Looks like the MSCONFIG dialog that appears after a reboot saying you made changes to me.

I think he means the explorer window in the background.

I would suggest looking through msconfig under the startup tab for anything that has the command C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft.

Sometimes a dead link in the startup tab will cause an explorer window to appear.

So much for kcny reading carefully :) :p

As Michael mentioned, I would search through the startups for something that references that folder. I believe that folder (Merge Modules) is usually used by Visual Studio so it may be something that Visual Studio is trying to find as well.

I have "notreadingcarefullydisease" for the past week.

I think we should just delete my posts since the beginning of April - will make life a lot less confusing :p

I attached all the list under msconfig, I can't determine which entry I should un-check.

Thank .

Either one, If the problem still exists just uncheck the other. Either, of those modules should be able to do what you need.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
