I just check out the updates. MS has one for the 8800GTX and I'm wondering what version this is. Is there a way to find out? This is all it shows.

NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

Download size: 61.2 MB

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

Update type: Recommended

This driver was provided by NVIDIA for support of NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

Right click desktop > click personalise > click display settings > click advanced settigns > click properties next to the adapter graphic > click driver >Driver version will be displayed there.

However you are better using the drivers direct from nvidia as MS supply cut down drivers.

Most of the time the Microsoft drivers do not have OpenGL support.

Sorry I should have been a little clearer. I wanted to know the version of what MS was offering before I downloaded it.

I would say never take video drivers from WU , always go to the source, in this case Nvidia

Yes, that's such a pain in the arse! What good are NVIDIA drivers from MS if they don't allow you to change any of the settings?! I had to download the drivers direct from NVIDIA just to force vertical sync on!

As far as I know you have to install them to see the version. But like I said earlier, the MS drivers will not support OpenGL.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
