Hey all,

Weren't sure where to post..

But someone's sent me a .doc over hotmail, and it's picked it up as avirus.. and i know for a fact that it isn't! :( Anyone know of away to bypass their damn virus checker?

This is parts of cswk i've got to hand in i'd done on his pc and he can't send again as he's now left the country!

Any ideas? :(

try opening the mail again.
it's happened to me before when i sent myself a piece of coursework for uni.
opened it 2nd time and everything was fine.

Name of Filechem.docVirus Scan Result
i.p.virus.gif
Unknown virus scanner failure Virus FoundNote: There is no cure available for the virus on the file chem.doc

It is not possible to download files from Hotmail that contain incurable viruses. Contact the originator of the file, inform them that the file contains a virus, and ask them to send a virus-free version of the file.

oooh. probably need to get it sent over again in a zip file or something.
or try outlook

EDIT: It worked? :)

It's a silly bug. Co-worker dealt with it same way Ming suggested. I just synched up Outlook 2003 with hottie - Norton scans the emails on their way in.

Try forwarding it to another email mail account

You can't do anything if hotmail says there's a virus. Can't download nor forward. The only thing you can try is to close mail and open it again and hope that it'll allow you to download the file the 2nd time... or 3rd.

worked 3rd time for 1/3 files.. the other two almost worked.. then hotmail went all gay and crapped on my bandwidth.

I had to rename files to .txt extention then change it back ofter i saved it, only way to get the file past hotmail.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
