HL2 Elevator problems

I've found that when I get on an elevator, the person doesn't activate it or follow, they stand by the buttons outside and that's it. So basically I get stuck. Luckily, at the first elevator, I saved the game, and closed out then after a few hours, I came back and when I loaded into the game, she hopped on and started it so I could continue on. But the 2nd elevator at Black Mesa East, it's not working. So basically I'm stuck in a hallway for good.

Anyone else?

It's a common problem (even though I've never witnessed it myself), I hear saving and reloading helps, but if that's definately not working you can bring up the console and try the restart command. As I already said I've not had the problem myself, I'm just going on the advice of others so I'm sorry if the suggestions above do not work for you, let us know anyhow.

Saving and reloading always fixes it. Don't know why it does that. Just jump out of the window beside the elevator to reload in the same spot quickly

I trued the save and reload a few times even shutting down the game and giving it some time and it didn't work. So I let it sit for 24 hours and came back and as soon as I log on... BAM she starts walking to the elevator.

Whatever. At least I can continue on. lol

Thanks for the suggestions though. I'll try those some more should I have too.
