trying to re start from hibernation I get this message up "The system could not be re-started from its previous location because the restoration image is corrupt------ delete restoration data and procede to system boot menu" soundes easy enough but the computer will not boot far enough to even load cd drive or the keyboard ,so i have this message on screen and cant do anything at all .i cant even try to re-install because the cd drive is not working. I am running x p pro anybody any ideas please?

Just before XP starts loading, start hitting the F8 key and see if you can get into safe mode that way.

If you're using a USB keyboard, you'll need to have support for it enabled in your bios. If your bios doesn't support that option, then hopefully you have a ps/2 board you can plug in and use until you get it fixed.

thanks a million --got going again deleted restoration image from hibernation-- the keyboard in ps2 worked again thanks

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
