help! xbox online

please help!

I am attemping to us the Two PC Network Cards setup directions for the xbox online, my dsl modem is connected to a built in and fully functional ethernet port on the mobo, and I also have a Realtec Network card which is where I plug in my xbox. I am using GameSpy Arcade. I selected my "Network Adaptor" as the Realtec card.

the problem is my pc wont detect my xbox (and I know that the nic works because it detects other hardware), what do I need to configure in order for this to work?

did you read the web page on how to do it its on gamespy.com just look for it

yes I have read it and it seems logical but my card still acts as thought there is nothing there...puts that X over the network icon.😕

Try doing it the other way around, put you net connection on the card, and the box through the onboard slot

Whats a crossover cable and how would it fix this ??

its same kinda cable
except the wires go to diff parts...in the cable...
u can probably buy it at a local computer store
or make ur own if u have the time
