Ok i am a total linux noob, been using it for 3 days now.
i'm trying to install vmtools as i am running the distro within VMware.
i go to the terminal and type the required text
all is well and i'm clicking enter on the options that come up, then this bugger pops up and i have done all i can to get past it.
i've downloaded the actual headers my source is
but when i actually go to that folder which is not in the directory that vmware thinks it should be in i get this error.
i need help... as a noob i feel i've done fairly well, i've researched this on google and followed a lot of the suggestions on the forums, but nothing is working or i am just not understanding it..

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

2.6.15-26-386

The directory of kernel headers (version 2.6.15-23-386) does not match your
running kernel (version 2.6.15-26-386). Even if the module were to compile
successfully, it would not load into the running kernel.
