ok i want to erase my hd and install a fresh copy of xp. but when i did and then i clicked like erase partion hd or soemthign it said i couldn't erase because it has required setup files on the hd??? can someone help me b/c im confused...

You can not delete an active partition from Windows if the OS that you are using is on it. You will need to use a command prompt utility. Easiest way would be to just throw in the XP disk and when it asks about partitions do whatever you want.

i did put in the disk and it still said cannot delete partion or whatever. im confused even more now:huh:

you need to boot the computer with the xp cd in the drive (also make sure that in the BIOS you have the cd booting before the hard drive). Then when the blue setup screen comes up, just pick from the menu whatever you want to do.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
