help with memory.

hello buddyes.
i want put more memory in my pc. buti need some tips.
i have 256 mb.but iam not sure what kind of memory i have or if i can put more memmory in my pc.is therea problem to check my hardware for that?
please advise About it? i want put more 256 mb

could you tell us what motherboard you have? or what kind of manufactured pc it is? hp pavilion 5350 or whatever like that? it would help us help you.

but my bios is asus a7m266 actpi.
i think is asus.
i have a amd athalon xp 1600

that motherboard uses PC2100 DDR SDRAM.

somewhere if you bought it new you should have got a book on what the motherboard needs for memory and how to add some.
easist short cut , if you want to add say 256 more then open case, if there is 256 in there now, and you see its only one chip and theres more empty slots then take it out and have a memory guy test and match it then put both back in.
