I don't know what I installed but I tried removing all the recent installs. However the Stand By button and hybernation option is no more available for me.

I have a Dell 8200 PIV 1.8 ghz with Windows XP Professional.

Any views or help is really really appreciated all.

Thanks a million for your inputs.

You have to enable APM for standby to work. Open the Power Options control panel. Find the option to enable APM and check it. If there is no option, your computer's motherboard does not support standby or hibernation modes.

That option does not exist any more. It used to work a few days back on the same system!

then make sure in your bios that you have your power management set to enabled, if there is no option for that in your bios, and not one in your power control panel, then I dunno!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
