Help ME before xmis

My Maxtor 40 gigs is giving me a hard time....
Had troubles since the begining I bought my new mobo,
By boot up,my hard disk would not be regognized, and reset follows, It happened sometimes.....

Now I,ve got new headache,
Boot up S.M.A.R.T Warning : Save your data and replace hard disk !!!
But presing the F1 button system starts up and hard drive spins and works well.......

Maxtor diagnostic tool says :
Error code : UK0E02
Bios extencion support : Failed
Portition Information : Failed
Maxtor drive do not exist, but he is in there and working ?????

What's going on ?
Help me to solve this out !!!

I was thinking to format, but guys, it's too much.........

I had this same problem about two months ago. And yes, I concur with Lonman, you need to replace that puppy fast!

At the very least, backup all important info immediately. It may last for a little while, but telling when is impossible...

Well, it sucks !
The drive is one year old !?

I'm bringing it back, and I hope I'll be back this afternoon with new one !!!
