Help me add a guestbook, please

Hello all,
me back in this area, could someone tell how to add a guestbook to my site.
I have access to a mysql database thanx to my host, but I'm not sure it's working well (had problems with a counter), but it's worth trying with it....
But if there's a way to add a guestbook (customisable a little [colors, layout,...) without the need to use a mysql database, I'd prefer this solution...

there's thousands of guestbook codes out there, depends, PHP, CGI, what do you want?

Theres loads of free guestbooks add ons, which exists out side your site and you just link to them, out there too, if you don't want to make your own. Most have ads, and some can change colours and stuff

I'd prefer to have the guestbook hosted by my own domain/site and not depend another site... you have your own guestbook, no ?
For now, I "installed" freegb.net's one...

Php would be the best option for me, if you too have several examples and howto install them, they're welcomed

I installed the php guestbook from your above link. It works great, though there seems to be an error when one submit a message: just above the line telling something like "thank you for posting" (that's not the real sentence ), appear 2 lines mentionning code error, but I have no time to read the whole error code because the page refreshes itself and actually leads to the right guestbook page with the new entry in it...
I find it a little strange, but it does work...
