help for win98! deselect "search for floppy..."

i just wondering y i cant deselect the "search for new floppy disk drives each time your computer starts"? eveytime i disable it and press apply and ok button, when i go back to double check, it still have a tick there!

try to reboot, same problem.
try in safemode, same problem too.

the problem is i dont have the floppy drive there, and it just pretty usless to check for floppy.
so any genius out there can help me solved this problem?

Have you tried disabling it in the bios?

all done, floppy disk controller, floppy disk seek, floppy disk..... all related to floppy disk have been disable...
