Help and Restore will not work

I defragged my registry after doing a clean with Reg Organizer. After rebooting, I have found two problems.

1. The Help and Support Center will not open - I checked services and it is set to automatic.

2. System restore will start but after reboot I receive a message that it could not restore. I tried several times using various system check points and my own restore points with the same message.

I opened Reg Organizer and the backup folder was empty so there is no way to undo changes there.

Any suggestions to correct this without doing a reinstall?

I found the answer to my first question on another forum so here it is for anyone else:

Most registry cleaners disable Help by deleting registry entries they shouldn't. Download and run (double-click) this script to fix your help/support. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts/fixwinxphelp.vbs

Now back to resolving the second issue with restore.
