I have a problem, actually no my friend has a prroblem. He has a 40 gig hdd and today we installed another 40 gig hdd. Hes runin win xp and when I open my computer theres only old hdd, but in device manager there are 2 drives and it says that everything is working properly. Can anyone help??

You need to partition and format like j79zlr mentioned. Without a partition you cant assign a drive letter to it.

to do that, go into Disk Management (it's in Control Panel somewhere)
