Hard drive "sticks?"

I think I might have some physical damage on my HD or something, but occasionally it will make some noise and "stick" until I access it again.

A worse problem is when I try to delete whatever is using the space that is messed up. Total lockup. Only a hard boot will fix it.

Any suggestions? any software tools out there to help?

by sticking...if you mean you hear a clicking sound...thats not it sticking...thats the Drive head hitting the cage...it is a sign of failure approaching, you 99% of the time can't fix it, so backup your stuff and if your warranty ain't up put a RMA in :)

If I remember right, it is Return Merchandise Authorization.
To Return for Repair, Return for Exchange.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
