Hacked Steam Account

all you said i do anyway - i was just too lazy to type it all out - also even if you did mac listing its possible to spoof a mac addy, at the end of the day if someone wants to get in they will.

I rarely use wireless :) so its 99% of the time switched off - cant get more secure that that :p

not really as one little tick and its all back up, its rare i use the laptop around the house but when i do the wireless goes on, and my point is valid, you cant get better wireless security than shutting it off :D

The other thing is why would people waste their time with nobody's , they will try and hack something that pays $$$

if thats the case why are there so many zombie pcs ? mass spamming does pay, so the more pcs you have to do it the more you spam the more you earn

O.K. How do you go about doing that? I have a D-Link Router that has 4 "wired" ports and one (1) "wireless" port. I also don't use my Laptop too often in my Apartment so it would be nice to know how to shut off the "wireless" until I am going to use my Laptop.

Not to mention, that many people are truely oblivious to cybercriminals...

So they don't encrypt sensitive data as they should...

They steal your CC#'s and sell them online... it is a multi-BILLION dollar a year industry... mostly being used from China, but still it is out there, and people will do it if they get paid enough $$$...

I say better safe then sorry...

Mike A!

Log into the router...

most of them are 192.168.2.1 or there abouts... look for the W.A.P. (Wirless access point) portion of the router, and disable it...
VOILA... the only problem is that after that you MUST use one of the wired PC's to turn it back on again...

Cheers!

another good way if you can is to remove the antenna's on the back or get directional ones and point them into the house, that way the signal doesn't go outside :p

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
