Well I would of deleted it but this vbulletin board here I can't find the delete post button. It was a problem in which GRUB loading stage 1.5 would appear and then the system would reboot.
Just so this works for everyone, you should use grub-install /dev/hda or whatever your bootable drive is. Depending on the distro, the /dev/boot node is not always [or usually] created. Also, any LiveCD will work as long as you chroot yourself into the broken install.
