Great fun with sound

I'm having some rather stupid problems with the sound on my PC. Since i installed my asus A7V333 my sound will hang up (high pitched whine) and the PC will lock up, especially when using winamp. I've got a soundblaster live platinum and had no probs with it before switching mobos. The system never crashes during games or net radio? This has stumped me and my house-mates, anyone got an idea?

Make sure you have updated your bios to the current version.
Good how-to here. You will also find the latest bios version on that site. The latest bios is 1007.

Have done m8, bios is bang up to date, it's just generally very unstable atm
