gpedit.msc Error!!! PLZ HELP

I have the following error. When i try to run gpedit.msc from start, run It opens the group policy window but gives me the following error.

Snap-in Creation Failed

The snap-in is not created, it may not be installed properly
Name: Group Policy
CLSID:{8FC0B734-A0E1-11D1-A7DC-0000F87571E3]

I have no idea why this is happening.. any help woudl be good.. maybe how to re-install gpedit.msc or something???

hmmm try running a sfc /scannow from the command prompt and see that everything is alright and not corrupted.
