tbh, after 3 80s, a 74, and 3 70s in addition; I find some of those starting areas to be kinda boring, for purposes of sticking around for any length of time
On the PvP front, I always do find it funny when the other faction (whichever) does some strangely, almost like "well duh" things. For this, lets just say I have an 80 orc hunter, as well as an 80 Nelf hunter (the 3rd 80 is a DK). I've got a black war bear on each of them.
Well when I'm on my Nelf hunter, I see these hoardies that come up a few at a time running through the main gates of IF to kill mangi. It's like "hello!, you really want to run a few at a time past the AH and bank area, where everyone + dog hangs out?" People (myself included) run after them, and shoot some arrows up their arse, death grip one of them, etc  I just can't stop laughing; and I have told a friend or 2 before while I was laughing my arse off "that's not the way you do it". I then told him how we did it when I got for the horde (everyone doesn't know I've played both factions, but some do).
We organized at Zoram strand, ran up to Auberdine, took boat to SW harbor, and ran along the canals, not killing anything (no local def chat to be pinged), and staying out of the districts along the way, until we got to the dwarven, then cut (shortest distance possible) to the tram, 40 man boarded it at once, then ran directly to mangi from the hall of explorers, straight down. Fast DPS Mangi down in < 2 mins, the ali had no chance to organize from the first ping of local def (on mangi himself) before we had him DPSed most of the way.
After this, we headed directly back to tram accross the forge to hall of explorers, boarded, and ran to SW castle; a few did die to PvP, but a tightly packed group (none of this a few at a time), it was down, and even the dead got credit. Ported, summoned the dead at rut'theran village, and by the time we hit exodar, few are there anyhow. But on my ali's realm, this isn't what people do  And they keep adding to city defender for the other guys
Then again, back in 2006/early 07, in a guild I was in we organized a raid on freewind post. Kept MCing the horde off the edge, knocking them off, etc. We did much the same when we held TB for 3 hours, some months prior. When I was on my horde on that guy, it was like a raid on the same thing; but imperfectly. First off the ali on that realm brought lvl 20s with them, and the 60s had to spend most of their time protecting them. And also instead of MCing the horde and the like, it was like they were clueless on how to use the terrain. It almost seemed as if some decided to copy what we had done the day prior or something on a dif realm? but couldn't quite sort out how to do it, or even that lvl 20s aren't the best idea for serious PvP against max lvled guys
And my allies guild having done the exact same raid the day before, I once again just couldn't stop laughing
Oh well...
