I was wondering if there is anyway you can use your gmail account with it. So, Outlook Express downloads your emails and everything, just like you can with hotmail, or rogers accounts???

I know this isnt a fix or explaination but you should check out thunderbird..its really nice
http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/
I use it and I really like it. Its just an alternative for people like me who dont use microsoft products

That last thing seemed to work, except it seems to be having some trouble downloading all the emails. I have like 200 and something.. It has got like 100, and has doubles of them....

I was expecting an answer saying, nope there isnt a way to do that yet. You made my day lol

I just downloaded Firefox 1.0, been using 0.9.3 for awhile, didnt feel like changing untill now, and I got my extensions and everything working. The only thing is, at the top in Tools, it says "Read Mail (7 New), so I click on that and it opens up Outlook express, but there are no new emails showing in it...? I don't get it....Do you need to setup Firefox with your email or something.

That menu option has always seemed flaky to me.
According to this page, it's supposed to indicate the number of unread messages based on your default mail client. The fact that it opens up OE means that OE is correctly set as your default mail client. I use Outlook 2003, and it always shows up as "(0 new)"
Makes me wonder if it only works correctly with Thunderbird, but I'll let you know if I find out anything. :)

i love gmail. and i loved them even more when they added hte POP3 and fowarding features

I just tryed sending an email with gmail using Outlook Express and it came up saying and error...

[The host 'smtp.gmail.com'' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D] what is wrong with it?

I recieve emails alright but I can't send anything...?

That auto-config tool did not work, its still the same. I dunno, I might just use the webpage. Oh, and yes I clicked that option!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
