Does any GMail users out there now how to fix this problem I am having? As illustrated in the screenshot...my inbox is showing 1 new email but there is nothing in the inbox. I checked on GMail's support site but I have not been able to find any references to it. Any ideas would be appreciated

Hmm. Nothing in All Mail? Maybe you archived an unread email?

Try a forced refresh (ctrl+F5), Gmail is based on javascripting and maybe your browser is holding a piece of data (in this case, Inbox(1)) that it shouldn't have. Alternatively, you could try removing your cookies for Gmail (but be sure to remove your cookies when not being on the Gmail website)
