O.K. yeah I know that everyone is moving to PCIe but I have a very good Asus A8V Deluxe MoBo and I really don't want to upgrade. I'm running an AMD Athon 64 3500+ and 2 GB of RAM. I was pushin around 2.7 GHz but scaled it back to 2.4. I wanna keep my CPU for a while. :D I know that these Vid Cards are very good at running nearly all the new games even though they are somewhat old news. My question is, is $147.00 U.S. a good price for a PNY Verto Gforce 6800 Ultra with 256 MB of memory? Now if I remember correctly all the Ultras came with 256MB of mem.

I dunno.

The ati x800 series is a faster route to go even without sm 3.0. Also, there are a few other AGP options out there.

What is your spend ceiling?

Don't waste money on AGP. I just had to get that off my chest.

Now, for AGP in the $150 price range the 7600 GT is a decent buy:

The X800 series is really old and I didn't see any for sale. The X1650 which is a clunker replaced it in the mid range.

For AGP you are stuck with mid range cards and ATI's price performance ratio has been lacking in the mid range for a while now. I'd say Nvidia for mid range. 7800 GT or 7600 GT, the 6800 Ultra is too old and too slow to even consider, especially since the 7600 GT goes for the $147 you asked about.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
