GF3 failing.

well, over the past week on most bootups my gf3 is not recognised and pc boots into 16 color vga mode.
a system restore recovers the card.
I did the basic driver uninstall/reinstall etc but it still happens.
Im wondering if i should back up now and format to try and cure this as im at my wits end.
any feedback guys ?? helppppppp

Do you have access to another card to install and see if you still have a problem? Or, do you have another machine to put that card in?

Both of the above... but for now i unclocked the card, & left the PC on. installing PC anywere screwed everything up last week, so im putting it down to that for now.

i did make a registry backup a while back (all 60mb of it)
if i click it and allow it to overwrite the registry.. what happens to all my stuff ???
do i need to do this from safe mode.. will it undo all the crap pc anywere did to my system as restore doesn't cure this problem in the long term....
or should i bite the bullet and do my 3 monthly format as i install to much crap on my pc ? lol
