Getting rid of .zip entries in directory tree

How do I stop .zip files showing in the directory tree in explorer.

I have done regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll, that removes them, but then .zip defaults to the shitty xp version, when I set Winzip to handle the .zip association the .zips show in the tree again. Is there a permanent way to turn off this annoying feature and still use Winzip ??

I just tried the tweak "regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll" and then I opened up WinZip and let it associate itself with Zips. The association works and the zips don't appear in Explorer.

Can't imagine why its not working for you:confused:

I have got it not displaying in the main directory, but any subdirectory they are still there :(

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
