hi
i had a software don't remember the name ,that used to show a picture before logon screen comes while bootup.
i.e when u start the xp after boot display a pic is displayed and then comes logon display .i have uninstalled the software but the pic is still displaying.

how can i get rid of it.

you need to get ahold of the original NTOSKRNL.EXE file and put it in your c:\windows\system32\ folder that should fix the problem and put the original pic on the boot screen.

If it was bootxp you might also have to edit your boot.ini.
Right click my computer/properties/advanced/startup & recovery/settings/Edit.
Get rid of everything after /fastdetect. (That's if you have not edited the boot.ini yourself) You can make a copy of it just to be sure. Reboot when you have done it.

no its not the boot screen , its the additional pic that comes after boot screen for a few seconds and then comes the logon display

If it is then this will restore the original.

I seem to have lost the association for this file. Anybody know what it is?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
