Getting rid of boot loader?

I want to use a 3dr party boot loader, how do I keep the xp bootloader from showing up? thx

By doing 2 things:

Edit c:\boot.ini (will be a hidden/read only file)
Take care of changing this with only 1 line with the XP os on it:

e.g.
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

Also in this file you can change the value of the timeout (here 5 seconds)

DONT COPY ABOVE SAMPLE OF boot.ini: edit yours instead:
the 0's and 1's in between specify the disk/parition etc so that can differ per computer...

Changing this to a wrong parameter may render your XP unbootable

go to device manager and select the advanced tab, under advanced u will see startup and recovery. open that and untick "time to display list of operating systems" Job done without changing files or registry :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
