General Icon Question

I have 333 icons that I have collected so far and I have them all in one folder on a partition seperate from my Windows XP installation.

The question is: Will having all the icons in one folder on a seperate partition negatively affect my performance? If so, what is the best way to go about customizing my icons?

Thanks,
Pete

It does not matter where and how you store your icons. Every icon accessed by Windows is cached in the file 'IconCache.db' (located in C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data). Windows reads the icons from the cache instead of searching for the actual files. The default size of this cache is usually to small, so it may be a good idea to apply the MaxCachedIcon-tweak.
Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer and encrease the value for Max Cached Icons to 8192.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
