Gateway laptop to Projector, plays everything but video

Hey guys,

Sorry for the misleading subject, I only have so much room. We were just trying to connect a projector to my friends laptop, which is a newer gateway. Everything plays great on the projector, but when we open up either the dvd playing software, or Windows Media Player, it isn't playing anything. You can see the movie playing fine on the computer screen, but on the projector there is nothing.

I've tried everything from changing the resolution, to changing the refresh rate (which is stuck at 60hz). I can't figure it out. What would fix this???

I had that problem myself, here's how I fixed it:

• Open Window Media Player
• Then go to Tools | Options
• In Options, select the Performance Tab
• Way below you click on the Advanced Button
• Uncheck all "Use Overlays" options
• Click Ok

And you are ready.
