Gamespy 1.08f

Anyone have a problem with Gamespy and windows xp. I can install gamespy fine, but when i run it it hangs at the opening screen, if i check my task manager aphex is running at 98% processor ussage, and memory ussage just keeps growing until i shut it down manually. I have tried to install it and run it in win 2000 compatability mode, and even turned off everything i possibly can with no luck. I have turned off the firewall and no difference.....
Anyone got any suggestions

Works fine for me, how long are you giving it to start?
Might even take longer than usual if it is the first time you run it...
I think it needs speeding up definatly :(

I have waited for more than 5 min....until my 512 mb ram is full, and nothing. I went to the gs forums and there are a few people with the same problem, but no solutions yet

It wouldn't have anything to do with your firewall, would it?
I know Gamespy immediately asks for access upon opening

Hey EP! All good with me, applying for Microsoft MVP right now, should have done this a while ago.

Notifications don't work, I only found your response by coming back to hunt up some threads, if you want, give me your email address so we can keep in touch easier!

EP, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there!
